Landscape Building of Orinda Water Treatment Plant Improvements by MWA Architects. MWA designed a series of improvements to this historic clean water treatment plant that had not been modernized since its 1934 opening.
To comply with anticipated surface water treatment rules, and to upgrade the antiquated facility, MWA designed new buildings and renovated existing buildings to new uses.
New construction is designed to blend with the existing architectural context while remaining almost invisible to the surrounding community that has grown up around the plant.
We also provided site improvements for the entire plant, including landscaping and screening, site and building lighting, plaza design, building graphics and entry gate design.
